  A strange part of me thinks that John T's should be a butchers or a fishmongers. I imagine John - or Jonty, as I want to call him - as quite a rotund man, in whites, with a white hat on top of his closely cropped hair. As I walk in, I think he'd give me a booming welcome; slapping me on the back so hard I almost fall straight through his glass counter.
  
  Instead, however, it's a hotel restaurant? And bar, let's not forget the important bit. Of course, looks can be deceiving. That's been my line on the ladies once or twice and from the outside, John T's looks like an olde world pub, where you'd take your grandad for a pint - not somewhere you'd expect to be boasting 'international cuisine' or where you fancy rolling up for breakfast after a night in the Marriot Hotel.
  
  As you might expect, there's a relaxed atmosphere. People are staying in a hotel. It's nice to stay in a hotel, especially a good one like the Marriot. Prices are typical of a hotel restaurant - not cheap.
  
  I say go explore, the city is your oyster. And oysters can be your dinner.
